Dr. Theresa Taylor is one of our optometrists here Eye Q Optometry. With a strong background in glaucoma assessments, Dr. Taylor has established herself as a respected professional in optometry.

In 2007, Dr. Taylor completed a valuable externship at Houston Eye Associates, where she gained hands-on experience working in a glaucoma clinic. She then went on to graduate from the University of New Brunswick in 2008 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree. Further solidifying her expertise, Dr. Taylor obtained her Doctor of Optometry from the renowned University of Waterloo.

Dr. Taylor enjoys the diverse nature of primary care optometry, which allows her to see a wide range of cases and patients. While she has a special interest in glaucoma assessments, her passion for problem-solving extends to all aspects of her work. Dr. Taylor finds great satisfaction in meeting people from all walks of life and helping them address their unique eye care needs.

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Taylor is a talented violinist who loves to travel and spend quality time with her family. Her interests also include wine tasting and photography, and she frequently enrolls in courses to further develop her skills in these areas.

Dr. Kiera Garner is an optometrist at Eye Q Optometry, where she provides neuro-optometry and care to those struggling with traumatic brain injuries and children with special needs.

Dr. Garner began her educational journey at the University of Waterloo, where she graduated as a Doctor of Optometry in 1981. She continued expanding her expertise by completing the Anat Baniel Method in 2015, becoming a certified NeuroMovement Practitioner. Dr. Garner also achieved the title of Fellow of the College of Vision Development in 2022.

Known for her caring and empathetic approach, Dr. Garner is detail-oriented and strives to make her patients feel welcome and comfortable. Dr. Garner is driven by the opportunity to make a tangible difference in people’s lives and enjoys solving complex problems that others have been unable to resolve.

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Garner is an avid adventurer who has lived in Mexico for 2 years and backpacked alone across Asia alone for a year. Her love for exploration extends to her hobbies, which include salsa dancing, biking, and river swimming.

Dr. Garner is currently not accepting Vision Therapy patients, however, please book with Dr. Freiburger as they are currently accepting Vision Therapy patients.

Dr. Philip Crouse is one of our optometrists at Eye Q Optometry, where he has earned a reputation for providing exceptional eye care to his patients. 

Dr. Crouse graduated with distinction from the University of Alberta in 2015, earning a Bachelor’s of Science degree. He then went on to obtain his Doctorate of Optometry from Pacific University in 2019, further solidifying his expertise in the field of optometry. He completed his ocular disease externship at the prestigious Spokane VA Hospital, gaining invaluable experience in diagnosing and managing complex eye conditions.

Passionate about every aspect of his job, Dr. Crouse loves working alongside his talented team at Eye Q Optometry. He finds great satisfaction in meeting new people and takes pride in educating them about the importance of maintaining good eye health.

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Crouse enjoys a variety of activities that help him maintain a healthy work-life balance. He is an avid traveler, golfer, and gym enthusiast, always seeking new experiences and ways to stay active. A devoted fan of the Calgary Flames, Dr. Crouse can often be found cheering on his favorite hockey team during their games.

With his extensive education, hands-on experience, and genuine passion for patient care, Dr. Philip Crouse has become an integral part of the Eye Q Optometry team and a trusted optometrist in his community.

Jessica brings a wealth of experience to the Eye Q team, having worked in the eyecare industry since 2014. Since joining us as an administrator in 2018, she’s become a crucial part of the team!

Jessica is dedicated to patient care. She prioritizes clear communication and empowers patients to make informed decisions about their eye health. Behind the scenes, Jessica excels at optimizing workflows and implementing new systems to enhance clinic efficiency. She thrives on continuous learning and finding innovative ways to improve patient experience.

Outside of work, Jessica enjoys a well-rounded life. She finds enjoyment in gaming, spending time with her beloved cat, and outdoor activities like camping. Additionally, she has a passion for dance and keeping up with the latest trends. 

Robertta completed her ophthalmic dispensing course at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology and comes to us with over 20 years experience in the optical industry.

Robertta has a very fashion-forward perspective and passion for helping others. She enjoys helping people see better and look great. She believes that being honest is the most important attribute when it comes to creating a trustworthy bond with patients.

Outside of the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her family, cycling, paddle boarding, and travelling.

Shaughn has worked as an optometric assistant since 2016 and a vision therapist since 2019. 

He graduated from the University of Calgary in 2015, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology – general. His academic pursuits even took him across the globe for a semester at Macquarie University in Australia, enriching his educational experience.

Known for his patient, understanding, and welcoming demeanour, Shaughn helps create a comfortable environment for all our patients. His passion for the technology and health aspects of eye care are driven by a commitment to helping improve each patient’s quality of life.

When he’s not at the clinic, he enjoys tabletop games and board gaming, camping, and volunteering as a freestyle wrestling youth coach.

Meet Stewart, Eye Q’s esteemed Clinic Director! Stewart brings a unique combination of expertise, compassion, and dedication to his role, showcasing our commitment to excellence in patient care. 

Stewart has been in the eye care industry for nearly two decades. He’s been with Eye Q for over 18 months, the last 6 of which have been as Clinic Director. 

At the heart of Stewart’s approach to working with patients is education. He believes in empowering patients with comprehensive information and helping them engage in more meaningful conversations about their eye care needs.

What makes Stewart’s role fulfilling is the opportunity to make a tangible difference in people’s lives. Whether guiding patients through their healthcare journeys or fitting a stylish new pair of frames, his contributions resonate deeply with the Eye Q community. Stewart finds joy in the simple pleasures of helping patients and takes pride in performing seemingly impossible repairs on damaged frames—whether they’re crushed by a car, trampled by a horse, or buried under snow all winter!

With his innovative approach and knack for solving unique challenges, Stewart is an invaluable asset to the Eye Q team.

Ashton is a recent graduate from Mount Royal University with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. She brings a passion for the medical field to her role as an Optometric Assistant at Eye Q Optometry.

Ashton enjoys making patients feel comfortable by explaining procedures and equipment to create a smooth and informative experience during appointments. She finds the most fulfillment in the diagnostic side of her work, learning to interpret scans and tests to identify potential eye health concerns.

Outside of the office, Ashton like to stay active! She’s a dedicated curler on Team Skrlik, competing throughout the fall and winter seasons. In the summer months, you might find her hitting the golf course, paddle boarding, or simply enjoying time with loved ones.
