Your Eye Care Coverage

Alberta Health Care (AHC) provides partial coverage for yearly comprehensive eye exams for Seniors (65+). The portion of the eye exam not covered by AHC for Seniors is $50. Children’s eye exams are fully covered by AHC at this time. Patients between the ages of 19-64 do not receive coverage through AHC for Full Eye Exams. We are happy to assist with private health insurance billing for services in most cases.

Alberta Health Care provides partial coverage for medically necessary, Ocular Health exams and Eye Emergency visits for patients of all ages. The portion of an Ocular Health Exam that is not covered by AHC is $23.
